I learned a new "technique" today- it's called "Bandanarama". This idea originated with Robin Beam from Ranger. I know she demo'd the technique when she was at BSS last year, but I didn't get to see her. A fellow sudsol demo, Anita, put together an online class on sudsol to teach us how to do it. She did an awesome job, and this is the sample I made during the class:

Basically, you stamp in black ink on dark colored cardstock with stamps that you think will work well for the technique. Then once you've done your stamping, you highlight your background with white gel pen. Once your highlighted areas are dry, simply cut up your background and use it as you desire in your stamping and scrapbooking projects.

What stamps work well for this? Obviously, paisleys.

Some other su! set suggestions were:

Time well spent
Polka Dots & Paisley
Polka Dots & Petals
True Friend
Boho Friend Wheel
Wanted Boho Backgrounds
One of a Kind
So Happy

What I used (all materials are SU!)

Stamps: Polkadot & Paisley and Amazing to Zany
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Black Stazon, white gel pen
Accessories: Label Punch, Antique Brass hodgepodge hardware, white grograin ribbon colored black.

Give it a try! I went a little crazy with the dots on mine (lol), but you can do less gel pen work and it doesn't take very long at all.

Have Fun!
