This one was inspired by a chat & challenge sketch on Sudsol.
The sketch was used with permission from Angel at http://angelosity.blogspot.com/2008/01/only-you.html. Check out her blog to see the sketch.
Anyway- I didn't get the card posted during the challenge because I was having trouble getting it to look how I wanted. There seemed to be too much "blank space" around the center panel, but I felt if I stamped the background, it would be too busy. I wound up sleeping on it, and when I woke up in the morning, it was the first thing I thought of (really-before I was even out of bed, lol!)
Anyway, I decided to just cut down the card to 4-1/4" square, and that did the trick. At least, I think so, anyway.
I wasn't even going to do the C&C because I really didn't have the time, but I never get to do these, so I thought- "what the heck, I'll just use what's already out on the table".
So that is why I used the colors and sets that I did- they were already out.
STUFF I USED: (all SU!)
Chocolate Chip ink & cardstock
Purely Pomegranite & and cardstock
So Swirly stampin' around jumbo wheel
Holidays & Wishes set
Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon
Antique brass hodgepodge Hardware
Word Window Punch
**the little heart brads are not SU!, but they were so cute, and they matched, and they were there, so I just had to use them
Now, I have to mention, the Word Window punch was too short for the "Happy Valentine's Day" stamp that I used. I really wanted to use it, though, so I cut a longer window.
Basically, I cut a strip of paper to just shy of 3/8" wide. I sliped it half-way into the punch, and punched the rounded end. then I stamped my phrase. After that, I slipped the other end of the strip into the punch, and rounded the end where I needed it. Here's a photo tutorial:
Hope you like the card- I was so happy to finally do a C&C, even if it is more than 24 hrs later-lol.
