Okay, I know Thanksgiving and Christmas are over, but a friend who used to be in my hostess club asked me the other day what we've been doing in club. Since I never got around to posting these, I thought I'd do it now so she could see.
We learned to make stars like these:
I first saw these done here. We used the snowflake pattern from SU!'s now retired Wintergreen DSP. The ones I made in this photo are a mish-mash of different companies, including SU!, 12 x 12 from JoAnn's, and different papers from Buffalo Stamps and Stuff.
The star below is made from glittered vellum that I got at JoAnn's. It came in 12x12 so I could make 4 from 1 sheet! Isn't it pretty?

This is one of the cards we made in club this past fall. The flowers and brad came from the pretties kit. We dyed the red flower using a Real Red marker- really easy. Sorry the lighting is bad in the photo- the card base is actually River Rock.
Last is an ornament made with the scallop punch and beads from the pretties kit. Ribbon is just a thin white satin from the craft store. I left my SU! ribbon home, so we used what Claudia had on hand (thanks, Claudia!) and I think it worked out perfectly. I got this idea from Kelly, here.
BTW, Nicholas did not get to have his surgery after all, because the doctors said his lungs still looked a little cloudy on the x-rays, so now they are waiting til Monday. I really feel for Jenny and Scott, Nicholas' parents, and his brothers, having to go through all this over the holidays. Not to mention the poor little sweetheart himself. It really helps me to remember every day to thank the Lord for my two beautiful healthy boys, and to really appreciate how blessed we've been.
