Monochromatic Embossing

I love the clean and classy look of black and white, and I think when you emboss in the same color as the paper, it makes a really strong statement. Here are two examples that I love.

The first is a card using the Heartfelt Thanks set, created by Juliana Carlson. the card color is actually eggplant, but since it is very dark, it gives that black on black look. Also notice the bleached out area around the word friendship. Tres cool!

The second sample is a 6x6 scrapbook page created by Deborah Whitt. It uses the set Roses in Winter, and the embossing is actually vanilla on white instead of white on white. Also very classy looking. I love how the embossed white mat around the photo mimics the material covering the cat's head. Paying attention to details can really make a simple design shine. And the cat is just adorable to boot!
